CCTV 9F Restaurant

The restaurant of the 9th floor of the CCTV building in Beijing is a magical space. It has been designed as the junction between the earth and the sky, enjoying a glazed roof and an apparent steel structure. The walls are covered with a blue and white ceramic reproducing an ancient Chinese calligraphy. It is a space where Tradition and Modernity meet. We emphasize this feeling with little glass partitions containing traditional ceramics. We installed lights to highlight the steel structure during the night. The main problem was that the space was too small to hold all the seats needed. Therefore, we invest the North and South corridors, making two very different places. The North one is the main entrance, an open convivial space divided by banquets. The South one is very intimate, organized into five different alcoves.
